The farm Unterrainerhof is located in the middle of the Pustertal valley, the easternmost main valley of South Tyrol, on a height of 800 meters above sea level. Surrounded by pastures and farmland, the farm lies in amidst of woods and the beautiful alpine world of the Pustertal valley. Next to the farm passes the river Rienz with its shadowy footpath and the bicycle lane that runs without interruption until Lienz in East Tyrol (Austria), through the Vinschgau valley up until the Reschen mountain pass and via Trento to the lake Lago di Garda.
The train station is just about 5 minutes away on foot, as well as the closest bus station, where during the winter time departs also the bus to the closest skiing area Kronplatz. The nearby large supermarket is only a 5-minutes-walk away. With a 15-minutes-walk you can reach Bruneck with its historical town center, many bars and cafes on the squares and smallish shops in the alleys.
