If you prefer being on your way by bike there is a dense network of bike paths in South Tyrol. In addition, many farms and alpine huts can be reached by bike. There is also a bicycle rental service next to the train station, which is located 5 minutes away by foot.
The cold season brings specially on the mountains, but also in the valleys, lots of snow, which transforms the Pustertal valley in an amazing snow-covered picture-perfect landscape many times during winter.
The biggest connected skiing area Kronplatz has guaranteed snow cover and is located a 10-minutes-drive away. Within an hour's drive there can be found many other skiing areas, for example the Sella Runde in the middle of the Dolomites, an Unesco World Heritage Centre.
In some of the skiing areas you can find also sled runs, like the longest sled run of South Tyrol near the Speikboden. In addition many alpine huts are opened during winter and provide a sled run from the hut down to the parking area.
Who wants to climb up the mountains also during winter there are many hiking paths up to the alpine huts
and mountain peaks, that can be walked also when covered with snow by using snow shoes or touring skis.
Likewise in the valley there exist excellent possibilities to move along with skis.
The two closest cross country ski track areas in Reischach and Pfalzen are located a 10 minutes drive away and
are with a high guarantee of snow.
More than ten other villages within one hour's drive provide beautiful cross country ski tracks in the middle
of the forest and snow covered meadows.
